About the Book This edition of Stories recovers what its editor sees as twenty of his finest works. Along with Ernest Thompson Seton, Roberts was the co-founder of the modern 'realistic' animal story. Misao Dean, Joseph Gold, W. J. Keith, T. D. MacLulich, and Terry Whalen contributed to the Criticism section. There is a short biography, anonymous reviews, commentaries on animals and the animal story by Roberts, and an extensive bibliography.
